The story of Nordhamn knife set
The story of House of Trade North AB story start a sunny day in Shanghai back in 2012. I was strolling along the Pedestrian Street in Shanghai and took a look into a knife store. When I first saw the shape, surface structure and the quality of the Damascus steel knifes that was sold there, I fell in love. I realized that this can be an opportunity to offer the Swedish market high quality knifes to a better price than similar knifes made in Japan. When I showed the knife store for my friends many of them bought knifes and took them back to Sweden. Then I was sure that this could be a success.
I bought some knifes home to Sweden and talked to my friend and Chef Tobias Alsterberg. We decided to change for a better material and make the knife blade thinner. We discussed this with the manufacturer of the knives and they sent us knifes in a better materiel and they made the knife blade thinner. When the design was finalized we were so pleased with the design that we started the production. And there we are.
